Good times

Um, yeah...its been awhile. Well where to start..hmmm. Ok, so I've been moved out since the end of May, and I LOVE IT!!!! haha, yeah yeah i know what your thinking...its the freedom right???? well, um yes!!!! :D I love my job, and all the people I work with...well most of them :p. For those of you that don't know, I have been working full time at Country Lake Christian Retreat. Its a wonderful camp..not to mention that its HUGE. The lake is awesome..and yes thats the blob. over there ----->
there is also the zipline, iceberg, trapeze, trampoline and boats. I do everything from Lifeguard, to unclogging toilets, mowing, and serving food.

Are official job title out there is life guard, there are 8 guy guards and 8 girl guards(and we all live there). We are like one big family, its almost scary how close we all have become. And of course we all don't get along every minute of everyday....there has been some drama, buuuuttt we forgive and forget :)
we also have some hilarious moments... like just acouple days ago, me and another life guard were cleaning the bathrooms in one of the dorms. She was cleaning the toilets, when all the sudden she yells " BRITTNEY THE TOILETS GOING TO OVER FLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" as she is sitting there screaming I'm yelling at her to turn the water off...so finally she does, obviously it was clogged. I'm all like *shew* that was close. So I go back to cleaning the sinks....but she tries to flush the toilet again!!! before unclogging it!!!!!! She starts screaming again that its going to over flow!!! I told her again to turn the water off, but she had already done that and the water was still flowing. SOOoooo as the water starts to poor out the toilet, she is still screaming her head off trying to figure out how to make it stop, and i'm just bent over holding my stomach laughing as hard as I have ever laughed!!! All the while she is screaming stuff like " NOOOO NO NO NO, STOPPPPP..... BRITTNEY ITS NOT STOPPING!!!!!!! She then starts to yell as loud as she can for another guard cause i don't know what to do, and even if i did i would not have been able to help cause i was laughing so hard....needless to say we finally got it to stop over flowing, but not before there was at least 4 inches of water on the floor. By that time i had tears running down my face.....and thats just one of the MANY adventures we have at CLCR...

ahhh, i'm giggling just thinking about that incident... good times, good times..XD

Busy busy

Hey all, its been forever I know. I've been SOooooo so so so so so busy! Thats why I am putting up this post. :D to tell you all whats been going on. Vanilla had her baby! its about a month old, she is the cutest thing on the planet!!!! I will have pics of her up soon.

Andrew and Laurens wedding is coming up, its next weekend. Not this weekend, next. Everything has come together very nicely....... so far :P lets just hope everything Keeps coming together.

I've been taking a lifeguarding class. Its 2 days a week, and Monday is my last day!!! YYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!! WHOOOHOOOOO!!! I'm excited.....if you couldn't tell.. Wish me luck on the test! :p

I'll be moving out in 2 weeks! OOOoooooorrrraaaahhhHHH! Now that is something to be excited about :D! And I'll be starting work at the end of the month. I'm so very happy!

I've been building fence for the past week.....that will wear you out.....*sigh*...


Went and saw Iron Man yesterday, and it was AWESOME!!!! Can't wait to see the second one...*wink wink*... Oh and if you haven't seen it yet, stay after the credits......theres alittle more to it :D

Theres abunch of other stuff I've been doing to, but its irrelevant.........like most of the stuff I just shared with you. lol

Vacation

So, I thought I would give you all some of the high lights of vacation. *Ahem* We got there, ate, slept, and left.....the end.. . . . HAHAhaha, no not really.

Ok so, some of the fun things we did. Um, on Easter we went to an Easter parade. The best part was fighting people for beads that the flout riders threw.....hehe. Then we saw women that were once men, they were all flipping their hair and gigging.......that was kinda weird.......I'm feeling uncomfortable now........moving on. We walked Bourbon street, and saw some cool street performers! Lots of musicians.

Every Day we would go out and lay in the sun by the pool. One thing about down there, was it was SOOOO windy. We stayed in an apartment complex, and it was just like stuck in the middle of now were. It looked like somebody just decided to plop it right in the middle of a MASSIVE plain. so yeah.

My Cousin and I played Guitar Hero every night....and i OWNED HIM!......lol....and yes, we were on expert. Who says girls can't play video games??? hmm? *grins*

Crawdads, we ate them...or Crawfish, whatever you want to call them. Let me explain the process....*clears throat*.. you take a crawfish(yes they are dead, they have been boiled, but all of the body is intact) 1st, you rip the head off, and suck all the spices/juices out. 2nd, at the top end of the tale, you snap a little piece off, and therefore the meat will be peaking out. You then proceed to grab that with you teeth and pull. Not a very elegant process..

We went on an awesome swamp tour! it was so cool. We saw birds, algae, fish, water,snakes, algae, crawdads, 5 alligators!! trees, dragonflies, algae, flowers......did I mention algae....

Ummmm, what else.....Carson(thats my cousin) and i did some awesome stunts at the apartment complex, and yes i got them on camera!!! muahahahahahahah.......


We visited the beach in MISSISSIPPI!!!......who does that???..lame :p

Oh! FISHING!!! that was fun....i got pooped on by a bird....not cool. I got like TONS of bites, but kept loosing them...i got so mad. It was alot of fun just riding in the boat, we were flying!!! then we saw dolphins, and almost ran over one. I was like "AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! WATCH OUT!!!!" yeah, they were that close!


We ate Benyas(fryed dough, obviously not healthy)............yum...........*drooling*......mmm'mmm...



A museum built of anything and everything...aka trash.....what a joke, and the sad thing was that we paid to get in....um..yeah(that was mom's brilliant idea)

Been awhile, eh?

Whats up bloggies!? So, I haven't blogged in AGES!!!......and I'm not sure why?...hm Anyway, I still haven't got a cable for my video camera..grr, I really need to get on that. I'm just such a procrastinator. Oh well. Tomorrow we leave for vacation!!!! WHOOHOO!!!! I'm pretty excited about that...if you can't tell. :D Um, just a quick note, I'm changing the way I will be blogging. In stead of trying to write a fasinating story. I'm just going to write like i'm talking....which might be hard to follow, cause I can be random. Oh look a butter fly.............um, yea.

So, Vacation!!! every one loves it!!! We are heading off on our adventure tomorrow mornin at 6am. ugh, I'm not a morning person. And will be driving to Slidale Louisiana. That is are official staying place. And I am really hoping that we go to FL, cause I really really want to take surfing lessons!!! But most of the time down there I will trying to catch some rays...that is, sun rays :) Because I have to get a tan for Andrew and Laurens wedding. If it wasn't for this, I would be going crazy and makin a fool of myself in the water :D Hope fully I cant get some good recording done down there with my camera. and then post it.

I am also(when i get the dumb cable) going to make a youtube account. So I will be posting videos there also. I will let everybody know when this happins.....hopefully sometimes in the near future. My first video will probably be of dumb stunts, But first I have to cut and edit it :D and then abunch of other stuff!!! hehe, hope you all will like it.. sledding down stairs

Have you every seen a kid sled down a flight of stairs, in a movie and wonder to your self "does that really work?" well I'm here to inform you that it does!!! today, after Cayla and I got done with school we went outside and sought out any crazy thing we could do. Since the entire world was frozen, it didn't take us long to find some fun. we first started off skating on our drive way, then we progressed to sledding. I was the first one down the hill, and i couldn't stop until I hit a small stump that was covered with snow and leafs. That propelled me forward off the sled. That stump but a hole in the bottom of the sled and but a bruise on my butt.

After that we decided going strait down the hill wasn't such a good idea, since we couldn't stop unless we hit a tree, stump or other foreign object in the woods. I had a brilliant idea that we could sled/ski across the yard going perpendicular to the hill. Cayla ran and go 2 wooded spindles, that we used for poles, and we preceded to scoot ourselves across the yard. that was quite fun. But we needed something more dangerous.....mmuuhahahah.

As I was scheming I spied the pool deck stairs, and they were completely frozen!!! So I took our beaten up sled and went to the top of the stars. Which was quite a workout. then I set down and plunged down the stairs, and I worked!!! and I didn't even get hurt!. after that we decided to upgrade and use on of the wooden spindles like a kayak oar. It was sooo AWESOME! we were like bobsledding with an oar. so much fun! We video taped everything so if I ever get it loaded on my computer I'll be sure to put it up. the end!

Ridding with the camera

A couple of days ago Cayla and I went riding. I decide to take the camera with us. We had such a good time, it was a little chilly, but still bearable. after we got back I told her we needed to take some pictures of us. So we did.This is Guy, for you that didn't read a previous post, I ride him most the time. He is a little bit on the ornery side.

After we got back I had to feed the horses. As I was scooping the feed I just had to stop and smell the feed. I LOVE the smell of feed, I wish they would make an air freshener of that and the smell of horse!

But, boy did we have a good time. I'm so happy that we are getting along so much better. Are relationship has become so much stronger.
If any of you all knew us a few years back, all we did was fight. We just about hated each other. I thought her and I would never get along. My mom always would say that her and her sister got along great, and that we would be sister forever. She just went on, and on....it seemed. It felt like Cayla and I had nothing in common, and we were totally opposites, which we kinda are...lol. But I felt there was no hope.

After mom started working down south for a long period of time(that topic is for another time), Cayla and I really started to bond. Especially since she has gotten older. It all started when I began to take her to voice lessons. After voice we would go to the coffee shop, get our drinks and sit and play cards with a friend who worked there. We had such a good time! When we left, on the way home we would turn up the music and sing all the way home. About this time we actually start having serious conversation. Our relationship has just caught fire since then. I like to think she looks up to me as role model for her. And I try to be the best one I can be. :)

I'm not by any means saying our relationship is perfect! we still get into fights and have scuffles ;) But we love each other very much.

The Phantom of the Opera

On January 17 Cayla, Andrea, Angelique, and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera. It was so so so so so good!!! I would encourage anyone who is thinking about seeing to go. It was totally worth it.
I am so blown away by the actors, their voices and all the amazing props they use.
It was almost exactly like the movie, or as close as you could come. I was very pleased, and am ready to go see another play.......and it would be great if it could be as good as this one :)

cleaning the chicken coop......supposably

A couple days ago Cayla and I were cleaning the chicken coop. It hadn't been clean in awhile so I figure we should get it done before it got snowy again. So we started and got about half done, then I said I needed to go get another pair of socks on(my toes were numb). As I got my socks on I saw a bag of pistachios. I figured we could take a brake and have a snack. I go back outside and Cayla and I start eating the nuts. Then we start seeing who could crack the nut inside our mouths and eat the nut the fastest.....then that lead to who could spit the shell the farthest, and that kinda led to spitting them at each other( sorry if that grosses anyone out) :D So anyway I decided to get the camera and take some pics for my blog. Since I said I would start blogging about what everyday things go on. And so, Cayla took a picture of me spitting a pistachio shell, and she captured it right as its coming out of my mouth! LOL we laughed over it forever! It was sooooo funny!
And here it is!!! it's actually a hideous pic of me, but I thought it was funny. the thing on my forehead is the pistachio shell coming out of my mouth! lol Finally we got back on track and got the coop all nice and clean, with fresh straw. So that is some other crazy kinda stuff that goes on in my life :)

My new talent, hair coloring!

So the other day I went over to Rachel Manias's house to color her hair. I was a bit nervous doing it because I had never colored hair before. I kinda dreaded the thought of her hair turning a unnatural red or pink....but I'm always up to trying something new. So I snapped the gloves on and started squeezing out this glue type substance, called dye, all over her hair. The dye smelled nasty, for one thing and it left brown stains on your skin. So after I got all the goop on her hair, it kinda looked like she had wallered in the dirt, or at least her hair line did. Then she rinsed it and I put color sealer on her hair. She rinsed it again and BAM, it was complete! Rach went down stairs and dried her hair. The finished product looks lovely! I was quite proud of myself for not screwing it up. Then Rachel started talking about getting her hair cut. I told her I was multi talented......but she didn't trust me that much :D

Hello all and happy new year! to kick off 2008 I am going to blog about the newest addition to my family. His name is Riley, and he is a Abyssinian Guinea pig. He is like a little dog, its so funny. when he is sitting in my lap, I'll be petting him and he makes little squeaks. Its almost like a cat purring. He also has a Mohawk, running from his head down to his back. He is the cutest guinea pig in the world! And I'm very happy I decided to get him. I've never had a guinea pig before, so I was alittle skeptical before I got him. But I think he is tied with my first rat as being my favorite pet, so far. The only thing that was better about my rat is that she came when you called her name, and she was litter box trained. which I'm working on with Riley as of now.
