The Skillet concert was great, but there was something even greater that happened that night. But I will have to start at the beginning.
I ended up working with the security coordinator(whose name is Jason) the whole time. We were on a four wheeler all day going around checking the security stations, and running errands for people. The concert started around 7:00, it was dark and nobody else was coming through the gate, So Jason and I decided to go get all the volenteers and tell them they could come down and listen to the rest of the concert. As we approached the front gate there were 2 guys(an older man and his son) standing by the road listening to the music. They looked alittle shady, but we stopped nun the less. Jason gave a friendly hi, and started to talk to the older man. Soon, Jason just, out of the blue asks "do you know my Jesus?" the older man looked at us for a minute and then said yes. But he preceded to tell us that he had backslid and lost every thing he had. " I'm living in the book of Job." he said. "I am divorced from my wife and I drink all the time." Jason asked if we could pray with him, but he said no because he had a beer in his pocket. Then Jason asked if he could see his beer. "I'm not going to poor it out, and I'll give it right back to you" Jason said. So the old man did. As soon as Jason had the beer in his hand he said "now you don't have a beer in your pocket." And he held his hand out for the old man to hold so we could pray. With a slight smile the old man took Jason's hand. And we prayed. After Jason got done, the man was in tears, I was in tears, and Jason was in tears. It was incredible feeling! The old man looked at us with love in his eyes and said "you don't even know what you just did for me!" He gave Jason and I a huge and said please don't forget me in your prayers! We tried to get him to come down to the concert but he kept refusing, saying "just don't forget me in your prayers!" So I ask all of you who read this, don't forget Denise in you prayers.

Hey, that is an awesome story! Kuddos to you and Jason for taking time out for a man who needed Jesus.
I would have LOVED to make that concert! Darn it!
I have to say, I'm so impressed that you & Jason took the time to show Jesus to this man! It takes alot of strength to do what you two did! What an example - especially being your age, you are just going to continue to grow into a wonderful Christan woman! You'll never know how you changed that man's life!
God has a plan for all of us. His plan was for you and Jason to be there that night for that man. God will bless you for answering His call with a resounding, "Yes, I will!"
I love to hear stories like that! It reminds us all that we have to be ready and willing to be bold for the cause of Jesus at any moment. It should also remind us that people's lives are hanging in the balance and we have the power to do something about it through prayer!
awsome I am proud of you two for being prepared to share God's light in a moment when it seems someone really needed it wtg!!!
